In Conversation with Carlo Ratti: Initiatives to Deal with the Covid-19 Situation

The world as we know it has fundamentally changed after the coronavirus outbreak. The pandemic has exposed where the systems are broken and what needs to be reinvented to adapt to the evolving needs and lifestyles in the digital era. How will this shift change the role of designers and architects, how they work and with whom they collaborate?

Carlo will talk about his team’s most recent open-source design project, CURA, a shipping-container intensive-care pod to fight the coronavirus, and the ways data and digital technologies inform and shape the design of new systems.

Remarks: Cantonese, Putonghua and English simultaneous interpretation services will be provided for this session.
